Heather Frierson is the visionary, founder, influencer, and leader of Created Woman (C.W.) Foundation. The C.W. Foundation is a nonprofit organization that equips and empowers women as leaders in faith, family, business, and communities. This thriving organization has served over 6K women from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, life stages, and origins during the past fourteen years. Heather first envisioned Created Women to encourage, influence, and coach women in their faith and career walks in concert with her passion for fashion and creating beauty from the inside out.
From humble beginnings as an online blog/magazine to the membership-based online/offline community it is today, C.W. is inventing new ways to reach and support women. A few of those ideas include monthly “Gather Her” events hosting over 2K women annually, an “Interactive Women’s Leadership Conference” by C.W., featuring speaking panels, 25-speed mentors, and more. C.W. also supports women by creating and hosting annual faith and fashion show events featuring speakers, fashion shows, and vendors.
Other C.W. resources for supporting women over the years include an online video course with corresponding online coursework. The purpose of the 6-week video course program is to assist women in gaining clarity of purpose for making a positive impact spiritually, financially, and relationally through intense Bible study. In addition, Heather co-authored “Becoming: The Dreamer Launchers Study Guide to Launching God-Sized Dreams.” The book has a companion 5-week study guide based on six principles: to become the woman God intended her to be, to ignite purpose with passion, and to create a life of meaningful endurance to leave an imprint on future generations.
Heather has many more invented programs and project achievements as Founder and Director of C.W. There are too many to list. Prior to creating and launching the multi-faceted C.W., Heather gained valuable experience and excelled as a Communications and Event Director to over 6K weekly member and visitor attendees of a non-denominational church in Austin, TX. Her role included leading many aspects of Operations, creating and launching marketing and event strategies, overseeing the monthly newsletters with ~9.4K subscribers, establishing procedures and processes for marketing, events, communications, and much more.
In her early career, after graduating from Southwest Texas State University with a B.S. Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Business, Heather fulfilled a dream of working in fashion at Saks Fifth Avenue in Austin. She managed a team of 13 and was a key contributor to increasing sales by 87% year-over-year for the Ladies RTW Department by implementing storewide participation contests.
Heather is a highly competent keynote speaker and panelist and has presented for numerous women’s organizations throughout Austin since 2011. She has been a guest presenter since 2014, teaching several classes (i.e., Entrepreneurship) during Career Week for Texas State University, McCoy School of Business, and the Fashion Department. She has also served on the Fashion Advisory Board for Texas State University since 2020. In 2023, Heather earned her John Maxwell Speaker/Coach/Trainer certification.
Although Heather continues to be immersed in creating C.W’s latest resource, the monthly Membership program focuses on member learning from industry experts, tool kits, Masterclasses, Masterminds, and networking with intention. Heather is very interested in working with other organizations where she can contribute her expertise in coaching and mentoring leaders, strategic planning and innovation, communications development and deployment, event management, client relations, and more.
Heather is proud of accomplishing and sustaining a healthy nonprofit for over thirteen years when many fail after just five years. However, her greatest source of pride is her 17-year marriage, her two girls (ages 12 and 9), and, of course, the family dog (Yorkie), Charlie. Heather has remained true to her God-given gifts of equipping and empowering women to be who God created them to be, inside and out.
